A huge Thank You to the Big Apple ...!!

Well, for the second time in 6 months ...that was just brilliant ....!!! It really was so exciting having my art on show again in NYC with the Sol Gallery at the spring edition of the Affordable Art Fair. It will go down as another great week and I'm thrilled with the reaction to my work, featuring patterns from historical Irish wallpapers and a new tall vertical format that I've introduced.

2nd show for Niall's art in New York ..!

I'm delighted that the Sol Gallery will, for a second time, be showing my latest work in this great city. The Sol Art Gallery, Dublin, will be showing my art alongside with 6 wonderful artists, at the Affordable Art Fair NYC at the Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 West 18th St.

It opens with a Private View next Wednesday evening 29th March and runs until Sunday 2nd April.

New Collection - inspired by historical Irish Wallpapers: Part 1

For the last number of months I’ve been working on the idea of incorporating patterns from historical Irish wallpapers, dating from the 1700’s and 1800’s, into my work. I have really enjoyed researching and learning about the wonderful work that artisans in Ireland were creating and producing here in Ireland between 200 - 300 years ago.  My latest work juxtapositions my modern, abstract, colour soaked squares with handpainted subtle patterns that echo historical and rich wallpapers that adourned the walls of select houses in Ireland two and three centuries ago.

Looking forward to a cracking 2017 ...!!

Thanks a mill for all the support and helping to make 2016 a really special. There were many highlights and I was thrilled with the new work I created during the year. I'm really looking forward to 2017 and there are a number of shows pencilled in for different times during the year.

Niall's art at Dublin's Art Source and the Edinburgh Art Fair

I was delighted that some of my new work was on show in Dublin and Edinburgh during November.

The Sol Gallery had my work on show at Art Source in the RDS and the following weekend the Chimera Gallery in Mullingar were showing a great selection of art at the Edinburgh Art Fair.

Thank You, Thank You - New York, New York ...!!

The show takes place in the Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 West 18th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues), opens with a Private View at 6pm on Wednesday 28th September, and runs to Sunday, 2nd October. This promises to be a great show with nearly 80 other galleries from around the world taking part.

Honoured to support NYC Art Therapy Outreach Centre

The Sol Art Gallery is proud to support the Official Non-Profit Partner of the Affordable Art Fair NYC show the Art Therapy Outreach Centre (ATOC) at the upcoming AAF NYC. One artist from each gallery participating at the show was asked to create a special small piece of art which will be displayed on a featured wall entitled ‘Turning negative energy positive’ at the AAF. I am honoured to have been asked to create and donate a piece which will be auctioned to help raise much needed funds for ATOC's important work.
