Honoured to support NYC Art Therapy Outreach Centre

The Sol Art Gallery is proud to support the Official Non-Profit Partner of the Affordable Art Fair NYC show the Art Therapy Outreach Centre (ATOC) at the upcoming AAF NYC. One artist from each gallery participating at the show was asked to create a special small piece of art which will be displayed on a featured wall entitled ‘Turning negative energy positive’ at the AAF. I am honoured to have been asked to create and donate a piece which will be auctioned to help raise much needed funds for ATOC's important work.

The ATOC is committed to support people who have experienced some form of trauma - including war veterans, at-risk youth, and survivors of domestic violence, by helping them to see themselves as survivors rather than victims. Using my signature small squares and goldleaf, I created a piece, called ‘Precious Reflection’, which was inspired by time I spent in Annaghmakerrig, Co. Monaghan, earlier this year. Each of these special works of art that were created for ATOC will be auctioned off at the ATOC 5th Anniversary Gala in mid-October in NY to raise funds for their important work.

The Affordable Art Fair New York takes place in the Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 West 18th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues), opens with a Private View at 6pm on Wednesday 28th September and runs to Sunday, 2nd October.
