The Market Gallery in Mullingar hosted the opening of the exhibition of my latest collection of unique and vibrant watercolours on the theme ‘Inner Light’.

I was thrilled to be joined my mother Anna Marie with her exhibition 'Wild, Wet and Wonderful', a series of acrylic paintings on canvas, inspired by the boglands of Ireland.

This was the first time in almost ten years that I had exhibited with my mother and it felt great. The wild and wet day did not deter large numbers of people travelling from all over the country to see our new work.

The gallery was packed and all were treated to a wonderful and inspired speech by Dr Patrick F. Wallace, Director of the National Museum of Ireland, who performed the official opening. Dr Wallace, noted how both sets of paintings complemented each other marvellously, and that my paintings were fresh and unique, and that he was particularly struck by the 'riot of rhythm and colour' reflected in my paintings around the gallery.

We were delighted with the day and extend a particular thank you to Westmeath CC, the Market Gallery, Martin Moffat who arranged the turf installation and Hugh Murray of Classic Drinks.
